WPDeveloper, one of the leading WordPress product companies with more than 25+ products and 5 million users worldwide, celebrates Bengali Translation Day 2023 on 12th February, 2023, in honor of the upcoming International Mother Language Day. This would be the second time that WPDeveloper took the initiative to promote the use of the Bengali language in the WordPress community through organizing an in-house event.

As part of this celebration, WPDeveloper hosted a special event at their own premises: Bengali Translation Day 2023 with the goal of bringing the local WordPress community together.  The event focused on translating WordPress core, plugins, and themes into the Bengali language, making it easier for Bengali speakers to use and enjoy WordPress. 

The Founder of WPDeveloper, M Asif Rahman, along with the CMO, Afshana Diya, began the event by greeting all the attendees. After that, Afshana Diya requested all the participants to introduce themselves. The event had over 50 attendees who were enthusiastic about contributing to WordPress. 

Each attendee presented themselves in brief including their name, what they do, and their journey with WordPress translation. The event ran for two hours (4 PM-6 PM). During these hours, all the participants who had previously participated in WordPress translation last year also shared their own experiences.

The founder, M Asif Rahman said in his speech, “We believe in the power of language and want to make sure that WordPress is accessible to as many people as possible. Bengali Translation Day is an opportunity for us to celebrate the Bengali language and help make WordPress more inclusive."

The event mainly focused on translating WordPress version 6.1 along with several plugins and themes. The participants were guided on how to translate WordPress during interactive briefing sessions by Senior WordPress Developers, Linkon Miyan, and A. H. M. Nazmul Hasan Monshi, as well as several others including Abid Hasan (Senior Support & Product Engineer) and Kazi Md Anwarul Karim (Director of Engineering).

By organizing Bengali Translation Day 2023 for the second time in a row, WPDeveloper celebrated linguistic and cultural diversity in WordPress and promoted the importance of preserving and promoting the use of one’s mother language in the IT industry.
