Chinese company launches world's fastest internet network. The network is said to be capable of transferring 1.2 terabytes (1,200 gigabytes) of data per second. Today, New Delhi TV cited a report from the South China Morning Post that China's new network is 10 times faster than the world's fastest Internet lines.

Tsinghua University, China Mobile, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Cornet Corporation jointly implemented this fastest Internet project. Initially, China's Internet network covered an area of ​​more than 3,000 kilometers. The network mainly covers the three provinces of Beijing, Wuhan and Guangzhou.

The network is powered by new high-performance fiber optic cables. Most high-speed Internet networks in the world can handle data transfers of up to 100 gigabytes per second. Finally, the fifth-generation Internet 2 network launched in the United States enables data transfer speeds of up to 400 gigabytes per second.

By comparison, China's new network can transfer 1.2 terabytes, or 1,200 gigabytes, of data per second. Jingwuguang Network is part of China’s next-generation Internet infrastructure. The China Education and Research Network (CARNET) is working hard to implement this ten-year future Internet infrastructure plan.

Although the new network was launched last July, it was already operational as early as Monday. So far, all tests on the network have achieved the desired results. Huawei Vice President Wang Lei explained the speed: "At the speed of this Internet network, at least 150 high-definition movies can be downloaded in a few seconds per second." In addition, all software and hardware for the new network system will be manufactured in China.
