YouTube is working on providing an AI-based tool that will let you listen to your own songs in the voices of famous artists. When the tool, called Dream Track, launches, YouTube users will be able to listen to songs they've created using the voices of a variety of popular artists, including Charlie Puth, Demi Lovato and John ·Legend (John Legend). Additionally, you can use these songs in short YouTube videos.
According to YouTube, if you launch the Dream Track tool and provide lyrics, genre, and artist name, the song will automatically play in the artist's voice. Currently, 100 selected manufacturers in the United States have the opportunity to trial the tool. So far, nine artists have agreed to have their voices used in the tool.
Therefore, even if artificial intelligence is used to create a song with the artist’s voice, it will not violate intellectual property laws. Leor Cohen, global music director at YouTube, said songs created using artificial intelligence will be watermarked. This makes it easy for listeners to tell that the song was created using artificial intelligence.
This technology, still in its infancy, will help connect artists, their fans and creators. YouTube also released two sample songs as a test before launching the tool. Both songs feature AI-generated sounds from Charlie Path and Tapin. However, YouTube authorities said the two songs did not meet the expected quality.
