Instagram allows anyone to download Reels videos posted from public accounts. Previously, only people living in the United States had this opportunity, but now they can download and save videos posted by others on their phones from anywhere in the world. Instagram boss Adam Mosseri said the feature will be available on all phones running the Android and iOS operating systems.
According to Instagram, many people use apps from different companies to download and save their favorite Reels videos. Instagram accounts are also at risk of being hacked due to cyberattacks. However, with the launch of this new feature, Reels videos can be downloaded directly.
After downloading the video, it is automatically saved in the phone gallery. This allows users to watch videos at any time. However, the video is watermarked by the original creator and his or her account. Therefore, you cannot use a volume created by someone else to create a new video.
Reels videos posted from private accounts reportedly cannot be downloaded. If you disable the ability to download Reels videos in your public account's app settings, others won't be able to download the video, even if they wanted to.
Additionally, people under the age of 18 cannot download Reels videos posted from public Instagram accounts. According to Instagram authorities, the move is to protect users’ privacy.
Instagram Reels video download has opened up for everyone
