International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) launched the supercomputer "Deep Blue" using parallel processing technology. Deep Blue was developed specifically for playing chess.

At the time, the computer defeated world champion Garry Kasparov in a chess match. Development of Deep Blue began at Carnegie Mellon University in 1985 as the Chip Test project. Then it came to IBM.

Here the name "Deep Thought" is first given. In 1989, it was renamed Deep Blue. In 1996, the Deep Blue computer played six games against world champion Garry Kasparov.

Deep Blue Computer lost the game 4-2. In 1997, with the further development of technology, Deep Blue entered the chessboard again. This supercomputer defeated Garry Kasparov.

The Deep Blues have won two of the six games, three of which ended in draws. Deep Blue’s victory is considered a milestone in artificial intelligence technology.
