A new feature has been added to the Google Files app to help you easily find all the files on your phone, including images and PDFs. This information was revealed in a report by Android Police.
Google Files' listing on the Google Play Store reportedly shows that the app works with the new Smart Search feature. So, by writing information to PDF or image, you can easily find them from your phone.
After turning on the smart search function, you need to search by writing text or related information in images or PDFs. Google also gave an example. Let's say a photo was taken in a restaurant.
Then just enter the restaurant name to find all the photos taken there. However, this feature is already available in Google Photos. But now the feature is being added to Google's Files app as well.
This means that in addition to images, various documents can be easily searched using keywords. Additionally, even if you forget the name of the file (e.g. Ticket), you can easily find it using Smart Search.
Now you can search the Files app simply by typing the file name or the characters associated with the file name. According to Google's support page, Smart Search scans your phone's background to find files easily.
Of course, this doesn't affect the phone's functionality or privacy. The facility scans the phone itself, so there is no risk of data on the phone being transferred to another location.
The feature is now available for experimental testing by some users. Users can also turn off the facility at any time.
