Last September, WhatsApp launched a broadcast tool called Channels. This "one-way" communication tool allows updates to be easily communicated to multiple people. Now, Meta’s app will open up the possibility of conducting investigations within the tool.

Currently, WhatsApp beta users have the opportunity to try out the survey feature. WABeta Info, an organization that works with various WhatsApp features, said it is possible to create polls on any topic in a WhatsApp channel and send the results to others. This allows any person or organization to provide up-to-date information to their channel members and get their opinions on a variety of topics.

Since this is a one-way street, members cannot comment on channel posts but can reply if desired. According to WhatsApp, the identity or privacy of survey participants will not be kept confidential. This allows users to express their opinions freely. The feature is currently being tested in WhatsApp beta version 2.23.24.12. This feature may be available to everyone in the next update.
