A man was crushed to death by a robot at a vegetable factory in South Korea while trying to test its sensor capabilities. The 40-year-old man was an employee of a local robotics company. He visited a vegetable factory in Jiangsu Province to check the robot's sensor functionality.

A special robot is used in the factory to pick up vegetable boxes and place them on a conveyor belt. Apparently, due to a mechanical glitch, it couldn't tell the difference between the person and the box, and pushed the person onto the conveyor belt, mistaking him for the box. He suffered injuries to his face and chest.

He was taken to hospital where he died. After the accident, the factory asked the robot manufacturer to take safety and meticulous measures. This is not the first case of a human being killed by a robot. In March last year, a 50-year-old man was seriously injured by a robot while working at an auto parts factory in South Korea.
