Microsoft was founded on April 4, 1975 by two friends, Bill Gates and Paul Allen. It is now the world's leading software company. Originally, the company name had a hyphen in the middle. At the time its name was Microsoft.

The logo also contains two separate words, "Micro" and "Soft." On November 26, 1976, the hyphen was officially abolished. Trademarks are also registered under the Microsoft name.
