Game maker Atari Corporation has announced the release of the video game "Pong." It was the first commercial video game. Pong is developed from table tennis.

It is also popular in homes and video arcades. Just as Pong can be played by one person, it can also be played by two people. There are two paddles or poles on each side.

The ball must be passed to the opponent. If the ball from that side cannot be hit back by the bat, the opponent's score will be increased. Pong is popular for its simple two-dimensional graphics. Later, the Pong game was also developed for computers.

Atari engineer Allen Alcorn developed Pong while practicing a training program. Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell hired Allen to execute the project. Pong was the first commercially successful video game. Along with the Magnavox Odyssey, it played a major role in building the video game industry.

After Pong was released, many companies developed similar games. Atari, on the other hand, continued to develop more creative games. Atari released several versions of Pong and added new features.

Pong is so famous and popular that the video game is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., for its cultural significance.
