Japanese technology company Sony has launched the Play Station video game device or console. Sony Interactive Entertainment's Play Station is extremely popular around the world.

Play Station was first launched in the Japanese market with the slogan "Play without limits". The following year, the Play Station was launched worldwide. 10 crore Play Station-1s sold in a decade.

Play Station-2 was released in 2000. Its sales amount till 2012 is 15 crore 50 lakh. PlayStation 3 was released in 2006. Its sales amount till March 2017 is 8 crore 40 lakh. In 2013, Sony launched the Play Station 4.

It became the fastest-selling console. One million Play Station-4 units were sold within one day of its launch. The latest Playstation 5 was released in 2020. 1 Crore Play Station-5 has been sold in 249 days of its launch.
